Around the World in 80 Dinners – Black Label (Verde)
With the success of our first BLACK LABEL dinner we now head to VERDE in East Sydney.
Located on the corner of Riley and Stanley Street, in the iconic ‘Little Italy’ in East Sydney is the heritage listed Victorian building known as Verde Restaurant + Bar.
Verde is a unique and truly special combination of fine dining and home-style southern Italian influence, led by owner and head chef Antonio Ruggerino. The restaurant boasts an authentic Calabrian ambiance, reinforced by Antonio’s desire to serve family recipes that have survived generations with very slight changes.
Verde, meaning ‘green’ in Italian, is reflected in the menu’s commitment to fresh and raw produce, which naturally compliments Antonio’s passion for creating traditional yet innovative dishes. Verde’s signature dish is the pork Shank ragu as well as their famous fresh and homemade tomato sauces and decadent, mouth-watering desserts.
